Q
What is the difference between primary and acquired affect? Give an example of each.
A
Primary affect: biological or hard-wired affect associated with sensations (i.e., the love of sweet, aversion to bitter)
Acquired affect: affect associated with sensations that are initially neutral and acquire affect by one method or another (i.e., disliking the taste of jelly beans due to associating the flavors with nausea).
