Describe the difference between sexual and asexual reproduction?
A
- Sexual reproduction: The process involving the fusion of two nuclei (gametes) to form a diploid zygote and the production of genetically dissimilar offspring.
- Asexual reproduction: A process of reproduction where a lone parent gives birth to many identical offspring.

What is the cause of Gonorrhea?
A
- Caused by bacteria
- Passed on through sexual reproduction.
- Bacteria prefer moist, warm habitats like reproductive tubes.

What are the symptoms in males and females?
A
- Males: Bacteria reproduce withing urethra/ symptoms within 5-7 days/ pus filled discharge from urethra/ burning sensation when urinating/ painful and swollen testes.
- Females: bacteria reproduce in cervix/ may have vaginal discharge but no pain.

How can Gonorrhea be prevented?
A
- Abstaining from sexual intercourse.
- Having only one sexual partner.
- Use of condom.
- Tracing, warning and treating sexual partners who have disease to prevent it from spreading.

What is the cause of Human Immuno-deficiency (HIV)?
A
- Virus infects the lymphocytes.
- Attack T-cells and uses them to make copies of itself.
- Destroys T-cells so immune system isn’t strong/nonfunctional.
- Virus mutates to mask itself.
- About 10 years later the patient developd AIDS (Accquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome)

How can HIV spread?
A
- Through body fluids.
- Sexual intercourse
- Blood contact-blood transfusion.
- Drug usage by injecting with an infected needle.
- Breast-feeding from infected mother.

How can HIV be prevented?
A
- Abstain from sexual intercourse.
- Having a single partner.
- Using a condom.
- Not sharing needles.
- Infected mothers should bottlefeed their babies.

Why can’t HIV be treated with anti-biotics?
A
Because anti-biotics are designed to fight bacteria, and HIV is a virus.
