superior vs. other states. King/emperor does not invade a neighboring state as long as they pay taxes to that state.
Increased peaceful peoples, allowing for trade and commerce as well as an additional income from these states.

An empire that controlled southern china. Had many advances in tech, astro, medicine and math.
The song empire is significant because there technological advances are still used today.
junk (293)
a large, flat bottom sailing boat produced in Tang, Song and Ming. Good for long distance commercial travel.
The junk is significant because it allowed for further trade esp. along rivers. It encouraged safe travel and brought more money to the empire using it.
gun powder (293)
Used to make explosive and grenades (used to be used for fumigators to keep away insect pests and evil spirits). A mixture of saltpeter, sulfur, and charcoal, in various proportions.
Gun powder is significant because it changed the military and how they operated, it also allowed for terror and fear of being invade by those who used it, creating a tributary ssytem

this is significant becasue it is the bonding of buddhism, confucius and daosim ideas, allowing for the nobles and peaseant to have a more common sense of faith creating omre peace

this family is significant because they brought prosper to the court they ruled

Significant because it was a new type of ruling–> different type of PERSIAN ideas that were around–> changed the type of leadership there
