- you need to be able to naturally like people.
List eternal factor for effective communication
Look the part
- keep your uniform clean and fitted

Communication is?
The act of transmitting information to another person and for paramedics it can be verbal or through body language.
List tactics for developing rapport
- watch your inflections
- respond to the patient
- tell people who you are
- use the patients name
- anticipate and deal with fear
- respect the importance of pain
- respect and protect peoples modesty
- help and do not judge.
What is an open ended question?
A question that does not have a yes or now answer and that does not give the patient specific options to choose from
What is a closed ended question
Specific questions that can only be answered with “yes” “no” or specific to a single answer.
What is a pay off question
Tiny questions that can reveal big subsequence issues.
Ie:
Have you ever felt like this before?
Have you been upset about something lately
Have you been thinking about hurting yourself.
