New York Stock Exchange listed securities
Network B shows trade information for
American Stock Exchange issues and those listed on regional exchanges
All exchange-listed securities are assigned a letter symbol. Those trades reported on Network A identify the market on which the trade took place. If no symbol appears, the trade occurred on the
“New York Stock Exchange. The other market symbols used are: B =Boston; C = National (formally Cincinnati); M =Chicago; P =Pacific; X = Philadelphia; T =Over-the-Counter (Third Market)
0 =Other”
Volume Representation Transactions involving one round lot (100 shares) require
no volume representation. Only the stock symbol and price are reported. STC 45.50
For trades involving 200 to 9,900 shares, the
number of round lots is indicated. This number is separated from the price by the letter s. STC 15s45.50. 1500 shares of stc traded at 45.50
Trades involving 10,000 or more shares are
not displayed based on the number of round lots. A trade for 10,000 shares ofSTC would be shown as 10.000s on the Tape. STC 12.000s45.50. 12,000 shares of STC traded at 45.50.
10-share trading units are indicated by the symbol
s. The number of 10-share lots will be indicated. STCpr s 15s45.50. 150 shares of STCpr traded at 45.50.
When multiple trades are reported sequentially on the same security
the whole number portion of the price is dropped. Only the decimal unit and volume representation are printed. Consecutive trades are sometimes separated by a dot. STC 45.25 .25 5s .13. 100 shares of STC traded at 45.50,follorved by 100 shares at 45.25,followed by 500 shares at 45.13
If a trade is reported out of its proper sequence, the symbol
SLD will follow the stock symbol
If the initial transaction on a security is delayed, the delayed opening is indicated by the symbol
