Biodiversity
the variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem.
Gene
(in informal use) a unit of heredity which is transferred from a parent to offspring and is held to determine some characteristic of the offspring.
Keystone Species
a species on which other species in an ecosystem largely depend, such that if it were removed the ecosystem would change drastically.
Ecotourism
tourism directed toward exotic, often threatened, natural environments, intended to support conservation efforts and observe wildlife.
Endangered Species
a species of animal or plant that is seriously at risk of extinction.
Threatened Species
A species that is in danger of becoming endangered; it is likely pressured in some of its habitats or is having other issues.
Exotic Species
an exotic species refers to a plant species or an animal species that is non-native.
Poaching
illegal killing or removal of wildlife from their habitats.
Endemic Species
a species that is native to and found only within a limited area.
Germ Plasm
germ cells collectively.
Endangered Species Act
A species considered to be facing a very high risk of extinction in the wild.
Habitat Conservation Plan
a plan that attempts to protect one or more species across large areas of land through trade-offs or cooperative agreements.
Biodiversity Treaty
the goal is to preserve biodiversity and ensure the sustainable and fair use of genetic resources in all countries.
