What are Maslows hierarchy of needs?
Physiological, Security, Belonging, Esteem, Cognitive & Aesthetic, Self-Actualisation
Define the Physiological needs as per Maslows hierarchy of needs
It’s a basic biological need of air, food, water or illness.

Define Security as per Maslows hierarchy of needs
To feel safe and free from harm or injury.
The instructor should stress flight safety factors.
Define Esteem as per Maslows hierarchy of needs
Self-esteem from internal or external sources.
To feel good about ones self.
Define Cognititve & Aesthetics as per Maslows hierarchy of needs
A need for knowledge and feeling.
A need to understand the world around us.
Aesthetics being human emotions, about how one feels about someone or something.
Define Belonging as per Maslows hierarchy of needs
The need to feel apart of something, to overcome loneliness and alienation.
Define Self-Actualisation as per Maslows hierarchy of needs
A need to do what you were born to do.
Characterised by being problem focused, a freshness for life, desire for personal growth, and to have peak experiences.
Define McGregors XY Theory of management
Theory X, the authoritarian management style states that all workers dislike work and require active managing with threats of punishment.
Theory Y;
Effort of work = effort of play
People will apply self-control & self-direction without threats of punishment
Commitment is associated with reward
People seek and accept responsibility
Can be creative in solving problems, most of the population is capable of this.
Intellectual potential is only partly used in industry

Define the Denial defense mechanism
Denial is to refuse something.
Can form as repression, to bury thoughts
Can form as minimization, acceptance but diluted
Define the Repression defense mechanism
Repression is to push uncomfortable thoughts away inside the subconscious mind, often to never be used again.
Define the Compensation defense mechanism
Compensation is to overstate strengths to disguise weaknesses
Define the Rationalisation defense mechanism
Rationalization is a defense mechanism that involves the justification of an unacceptable behavior, thought or feeling in a logical manner, avoiding the true reason for the action. This defensive maneuver is often called “making excuses.”
Define the Reaction formation defense mechanism
Reaction formation is to fake the opposite.
Is when a person seeks to cover up unacceptable actions by adopting an opposite stance.
Define the Fantasy defense mechanism
Fantasy is to fantasize about a goal at the expense of doing the work to achieve it.
