A historian is a person who uses sources to get evidence (information) about the past.

What is a primary source?
A primary sources are sources which come from the time being studied. They are first hand accounts of what happened.
What is a secondary source?
Secondary sources are sources which come from after the time being studied . They are based on primary or other secondary sources.
Where do historians locate sources?
~ archives: a place where historical documents, such as maps, photos and films, are stored.
~ museums: a place where objects (artefacts) are securely stored and displayed.
~ libraries: a place where books are stored.
~ Historians can interview people who witnessed historical events.
What is the job of a historian?
Being objective and unbiased, separating fact from opinion, watching out for propaganda and avoiding prejudice.
