When is REGULAR ELECTION?
2nd Monday of May, every 6years
Where is the executive power vested?
PRESIDENT
Whatever is not judicial, whatever is not legislative, is RESIDUAL power exercised by the president.
Requisites for SPECIAL ELECTIONS:
A. Death, permanent Disability, Removal from office or Resignation of both the Pres. &V.Pres.
B. vacancies pccur more than 18mos b4 the next regular presidential election.
C. A law passed by Congress calling for a special election to elect a Pres.&V.Pres. to be held not earlier than 45days nor later than 60 days from the time of such call (Sec.10, art.VII). (Note: 45-60days after such call/need)
Qualifications to be elected as PRESIDENT:
A. N-atural born citizen of the Phils.
B. O-n the day of the election, is at least 40yo,
C. A-ble to read & write
D. R-eg-istered voter
E. R-es-ident of the Phils. for not less than 10yrs immediately preceeding the day of the election (sec.2, art.VII)
Term of the Pres.& V.Pres.
Direct vote of the people for a Term of 6years which shall begin @noon on the 30th of June next ff the day of the election &,
Shall END @noon of the same date 6years thereafter.
RE-ELECTIONS..?
The president shall NOT be elligible for ANY re-election.
No person who has succeeded as President & has served as such for more than 4YEARS shall be qualified for election to the same office @ ANY TIME (1st par.sec4, art.VII).
No V.Pres. shall serve for more than 2 consecutive terms (2nd par. Sec4, Art.VII)
