What is the chain of command?
power relations within an organization, showing how one position relates to others.
What is the community era?
the time where police were retrained to work with the community to solve problems, focused on relationships.
What is a constable?
a favored nobleman who were forerunners.
What is a coroner?
a court officer whose duty is to determine cause of death.
What is Interpol?
the only international crime-fighting organization that collects intelligence information, issues alerts, assists in capturing world criminals (drug trafficking, bank fraud, money laundering, counterfeiting).
What is the Justice of Peace?
a minor justice official who oversees lesser criminal trials
What is the Municipal police department?
a police force that enforces laws and maintains peace within a specified city.
What is the Organizational Structure or Chart?
shows its chain of commands, lines of commands, division of labor.
What is the Political Era?
police were tied to politics, politicians dependent on them for hiring, promoted which all raised corruption.
Who are the private police/security?
all non-public officers who have limited powers and only the same arrest powers as regular citizens.
What is the Reform era?
police sought to extricate themselves from the shackles of politicians which led to the crime-fighter era.
What is the Sheriff?
chief law enforcement officer who is normally elected, operates the jail, law enforcement functions.
What is the State bureau of investigation?
a state agency that is responsible for enforcing state highway laws, investigating crimes involving state statues, report to the states attorney general.
What are state police?
responsible for highway patrol, other duties in the states statutes.
