CARDIC ARREST HOOKS UP AND OPERATES THE DEFIBRILLATOR
” E” equipment
If engine riding with five ffs than 5 ff initial remains with apparatus and help carry any additional equipment if necessary
The chauffeur or non-CFRD trained member

When approaching the scene of a CFRD response the OID shall perform the following
- Observe scene safety of the crew, patient and bystanders
- ID the number of patients involved
- Ensure BSI
- Determine the needs for additional resources
If it is determined that the patients condition is either critical or unstable ( utilizing CUPS ) the OIC shall
Ask the dispatcher for the ETA of the responding ambulance
ADVISE THE dispatcher to relay the seriousness of the patients condition to the responding EMS UNIT(s)
CFRD operating at segment 1 calls will remain on scene and
REMAIN ON SCENE AND Assist EMS UNTIL IT IS DETERMINED THAT THEIR ASSISTANCE IS NO LONGER NEEDED
A PCR is not required when
When CFRD is on scene (10-84) at any assignment unless patient care provided
When requesting an ambulance the CFRD engine must relay the following g to the dispatcher
CUPS status AGE Chief complaint If PCR initiated Pulse and respiratory rate
Patient packaging efforts must begin Immediately while treating life threats when
Patients CUPS STATUS IS CRITICAL OR UNSTABle
If potentially UNSTABLE OR STABLE PERFORM THE APPROPRIATE FOCUSED PHYSICAL EXAM
After it is determined the companies services are no longer needed the company should go 10-8 with the dispatcher unless
If decon of a member. Personal protective equipment and/or the equipment used is required the company will not be available until the situation is rectified
Upon completion of the decon process the company will transmit the appropriate signal
If equipment has been left at the scene or supplies have been expended and the company does not have the minimum amount the company will
Go back in service for fire duty but advise the dispatcher and battalion that not available for CFRD response
Company immediately return to quarters replace equipment and supplies
