Q

changes in land use might cause a river to flood

A

There are quite a few human activities that can cause and increase the risk of flooding the main one being urbanisation, which causes impremeable surfaces, storm drains and channel restrictions from bridges. other causes such as flood plain developments and engineering that cause obstruction to a channel can also increase risk of floods. Meachanical farming or inappropriate farming practices heighten chance of flooding. all of these uses of land can cause floods and or increase the chance of flooding as they negatively impact channel flow and disrupt and obstruct the channel leading to floods.

Q

formation of snow

A

snow is frozen precipitation snow crystals form when the temperature is below freezing and water vapor turns solid.

very cold air contains a limited amount of moisture, so the heaviest snowfall occurs when warm moist air is forced over very high mountains or when warm moist air comes into contact with very cold air at a front
