Many fathers emphasised the need to spend quality time with their children and see outings and activities with their children as an expression of fatherhood, not work.

Fathers spend 7x more time with their children than their own fathers did with them and mothers quality time has also increased. C- Working class families are always busy with work and so this is mainly in middle class families who have more free leisure time.

Emergence of a number of different dads:
- Enforcer dad - traditionalist with strict rules and pocket money rations who believes he has to provide a stern role model
- Entertainer dad - the clowns of the family to keep their children amused
- Useful dad - take the initiative when it comes to domestic tasks but are less willing to pitch in
- Fully involved dad - share responsibility for chores on an equal basis with their partners
C-British men have undergone a shift, but many till see themselves as breadwinners and heads of family as the pace of reform has not caught up with the change in attitudes and behaviour.
