Why is GNI good to measure development
It measures how much money people make so is very accurate to measure wealth

Why are birth rates a good development indicator
They associate with poorer country as poorer people will have more children to support their parents financially and women are less educated so have children younger and more
What are the limitations of Birth rate as a development indicator
1.Some countries might have low birth rates but are actually quite poor
2. Birth control policies like in China can distort this as a measure of development
Why are Death Rates a good development indicator
High death rates suggest bad healthcare such as lack of medicine to autoimmune diseases and bug related deaths

1.Death rates are less reliable then birth rates
2. HICs tend to have an older population so could still have high death rates

It reflects the level of healthcare and service provision in a country

In poorer countries, not all the deaths of children are reported which means the true rates might even be higher

1.Data is not always reliable like in LICs
2. It can be slightly misleading in countries with very high infant mortality rates
Why is literacy rate a good development indicator
It reflects the provision of education within a country

1.Can be hard to measure in LICs due to lack of monitoring
2. War zones and squatter settlements are difficult to measure literacy rates
Why is percentage of access to safe water a good development indicator
Access to safe water links to wealth as HICs in the EU must provide safe water to all people and LICs tend to have a lower access to safe watee
