Chambers of the heart Flashcards
What does the right auricle do?
Receives deoxygenated blood from the systemic circulation and directs it towards the right ventricle
What does the left auricle do?
Receives oxygenated blood from the pulmonary veins and directs it towards the the left ventricle
What muscle is found in the right atrium
Pectinati muscle
What does the moderator band in the right ventricle do?
It carries part of the AV branch to the papillary muscles which increases conduction times
What is the moderator band also known as?
The septa-marginal trabeculum
What do the papillary muscles and the chordae tendinae do?
When the papillary muscles contract they tense up the chordae tendinae which keep the valves closed
What muscle is found in the right ventricle
Trabeculae carnae
Where is the crust terminals found?
In the right atrium
