Blood supply to the heart Flashcards
Main blood supply?
Right and left coronary arteries from the ascending aorta
Why does occlusion to the coronary arteries lead to so much damage?
They are end- functional arteries
What happens to the aortic sinuses during systole
They are blocked by the aortic valve
What happens to the aortic sinuses during diastole
The elastic recoil of the aorta causes the aortic valve to move and the aortic sinuses can release blood into the coronary arteries
Subdivision of R.C.A
Marginal
Posterior interventricular
Subdivisions of the L.C.A
Anterior interventricular
Circumflex
Which arteries meet in the interventricular sulcus
The anterior and posterior
Which arteries meet in the coronary sulcus
The R.C.A. and the circumflex
What is the coronary sulcus also known as?
The atrioventricular sulcus
