What are seed resistances?
A
Things that are shown to you by the patient but may be covering for the underlying deeper issue, which is the core pain/process. When you can decipher the seed resistance, you can understand the patient much better.

What are the 3 ways of dealing with seed resistances?
A
- content discussion (deal w/ actual question directly and remain focused on situation at hand)
- process discussion (comment/ask about underlying emotion or frustration)
- side-stepping (find a less threatening topic and go there at least temporarily if an interaction is too emotion-filled)
