-Khrushchev called Mao the “Asian Hitler,”
-August 1966 the USSR became the primary foe

-There was a major territorial dispute of over 52,000 km^2 with 100,000 troops
-In March 2 bloody conflicts broke out with Chinese forces overwhelming the Soviet but by counter attacking they helped defeat them
-13th August, 1000 PCR troops were annihilated by the USSR
