A. Responsibilities- expectations, roles, and responsibilities of team members are clearly developed and discussed.
B. Rules- rules and operating procedures are clearly identified to help the team work efficiently and effectively.
C. Goals- clearly spelled out goals are the focus of what the team does.
D. Coordinating efforts- team members develop clear method of collaborating their efforts to achieve the goal.

Family groups- most common among primary groups. They help us meet primary survival for basic human needs l
Social groups- a group that exists to provide opportunities for group members to enjoy an activity in the company of others.

A group formed to accomplish a specific task or goal.
Study group- a group that exists to help group members learn new information and ideas.
Therapy groups- a group that provides treatment for problems that group members may have.
Problem-solving groups- a group that meets to seek a solution to a problem and achieve a goal.
Focus group- a group that is asked to discuss a particular topic or issue so that others can better understand.

A perspective that focuses on how groups actually operate within organizations.

Role- the consistent way a person communicates with others in a group.
Task role- a role that helps a group achieve its goal and accomplish its work.
Social role- a role that helps a group manage relationships and affects the group climate.
