Define and explain the stages of relational development

Relation escalation:
I. Pre-interaction awareness- You become aware of your attraction to someone and begin to observe that person.
II. Initiation- You initiate contact with the person with whom you want a relationship.
III. Exploration- interactions deepen as questions and answers elicit more information from partners.
IV. Intensification- partners begin to depend on each other for confirmation of their self-concepts. They spend more time together, engage more in intimate touch.
V. Intimacy- partners provide primary confirmation of each other’s self-concept. Verbally, language is highly personalized, nonverbal behaviors are synchronized.

Conflict constructed by cooperation in dealing with differences, helps build new insights and patterns in a relationship.

What is Destructive conflict?
Conflict characterized by a lack of cooperation in dealing with differences, dismantles relationships without restoring them.
