Breast cancer treatment for women with:
estrogen and/or progesterone receptor positive
human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER2) negative
3 or fewer positive lymph nodes
Chemotherapy base on tumor’s onco-type recurrence score
Breast cancer treatment for women with:
triple negative disease (ER-, PR-, HER2- receptor)
positive lymph nodes
Anthracycline and taxane chemotherapy unless contraindicated
Breast cancer treatment for women with:
HER2 positive
2cm or smaller
negative lymph nodes
Weekly taxol for 12 weeks
Combined with trastuzumab (Herceptin) for one year
4 year overall survival of 95%
Breast cancer treatment for women with:
HER2 positive
larger >2cm
nodal metasases
Chemotherapy with 1 year of trastuzumab (Herceptin, HER2 antagonist)
And possible pertuzumab
Breast cancer treatment for women with:
larger tumors who desire breast conservation
Initial treatment with chemotherapy or endocrine therapy may downstage the tumor
Breast cancer treatment for women with:
locally advanced disease
