Hepatitis

A

Caused by hepatitis
- onset of fever, malaise, nausea, yellow discolouration of skin and eyes

Source of infection:

  1. Contaminated food or drinking water
  2. Directly from infected persons by the faecaloral route or by close contact

Precautions:
1. Avoid drinking contaminated water water or beverage with ice of doubtful origin

  1. Avoid eating uncooked or undercooked food particularly shellfish

Vector- borne disease: Malaria

A

Transmitted by female Anopheles mosquitoes

Acute malaria includes periodic fever, diarrhea aches

Precautions:
Avoid being bitten by mosquitoes

Take antimalarial drugs when appropriate
