  1. Arabs lotst 15k men ; israelis lost <1k
  2. Arabs had larger armies, but their air forces were swiftly destroyed
  3. Arabs had modern soviet missiles & other weapons ; israelis had french fighter planes & tanks
  4. Israelis had the most advanced US electronic equipment, were able to intercept arab communications
  5. Israelis were highly skilled & training & highly motivated (believed they were fighting for their freedom)
