what does nasser chose to do

asks UN to remove their troops, to prove egypt doesnt need help
closed the straits of tiran to israeli shipping thus denying access to israels main port - straw that broke the camals back for the israelis

5th air forces attack all arab planes, they won basically there and then
Why did israel win
- Arabs lotst 15k men ; israelis lost <1k
- Arabs had larger armies, but their air forces were swiftly destroyed
- Arabs had modern soviet missiles & other weapons ; israelis had french fighter planes & tanks
- Israelis had the most advanced US electronic equipment, were able to intercept arab communications
- Israelis were highly skilled & training & highly motivated (believed they were fighting for their freedom)
what did the israelis do with all the land they had gained
make them military occupied aka buffer zones from surrounding enemies
