- bathing from bath basin or sink with patient sitting on chair.
- patient has independence
- assistance needed in hard to reach areas.
Tub bath
- immeresing in a tub of water
- may require nurses help
Chloehexidine gluconate bath CHG
-antimicrobial bath wipe is used to decrease the frequency of hospital acquired infections on skin, invasive linens and catheters

long, slow; gliding strokes of a massage

Fowlers position
- head of bed raised to 45 degree angle, semi sitting position, foot of bed may be raised at knee
USES: eating
-nasogastric tube insertion - nasotracheal suction
- lung expansion & eases difficult breathing
Semi- Fowlers position
- Head of bed raised 30 degrees
- less inclination, foot of bed raised at knee
USES: lung expansion to ventilator assisted patients - patients receiving oral care and gastric feedings to reduce regurgitation and risk of aspiration
Trendelenburg’s position
- Entire bed frame tilted with head of bed down
USES: -postural drainage - facilitates venous return to patients with poor peripheral perfusion
