To stabilize the western frontier, an announcement forbidding colonists to settle past the appalachian mountains. Was met with anger by colonists
Sugar Act
Placed taxes on sugar and other foreign luxuries to raise money for the crown
Quartering Act
Colonists had to provide food and living space to british soldiers stationed in the colonies
Stamp Act
Revenue stamps were now required on all documents, newspapers, pamphlets, etc. First direct tax on those who used the goods, not just the merchants who peddled them
Declaratory Act
Repealed the stamp act but permitted Parliament to tax and make laws for the colonies in all cases whatsoever. Put into effect to save face
Townshend Acts
Taxes on tea, glass, paper, and allowed for search of private homes for smuggled goods. Not accepted by colonists, led to boycotts
Repeal of Townshend Acts
After the acts were mostly ineffective, they were repealed and ended the boycotts
Boston Massacre
After a crowd of colonists harassed british soldiers, they fired on them, killing five

A British customs ship that succeeded in catching smugglers. Was destroyed by colonists disguised as native americans

Boston port closed, royal officials tried in england, quartering act expanded, reduced legislature power
