symbolic interactionism
view of society as build from individual interactions

view of society as being actively shaped through social interactions; typification (classifying objects and structuring our response)
egalitarian family
spouses are treated as equals
teacher expectancy theory
when students perform in accordance with teachers by accepting their expectations
mechanical solidarity
unity in society because everyone has the same experience
organic solidarity
unity in society because of division of labor
