When a BC arrives at the scene of an operation where an Acting BC is the IC, the BC shall

Examine company journal entries subsequent to the last inspection by a BC. Enter results of this inspection in the journal. When practical BC visits may be made at time of designated roll call. Covering BC’s shall cooperate in the carrying out of required inspectional visits

BC’s shall confine their inspectional activities to

In addition they shall properly supervise daily BISP duty being performed by companies in their respective battalions. Who submits a schedule for these inspections of uniform and equipment
Battalion Commander creates schedule and sends it to the Division Commander. The schedule shall specify 4 dates for each unit.
What happens if members are absent for this inspection
They will be inspected at a later date as specified by the Battalion Commander
BC’s responsible for the fire report shall determine the
Cause of the fire to the best of their knowledge. The dispatcher shall be notified of all fires of suspicious origin, which shall be transmitted to the BFI
Who investigates injures occurring in quarters
Battalion chiefs. Particular attention shall be given to injuries at or immediately after the change of tours. A report with full particulars shall be forwarded to the Chief of Operations

Proper use of the form requires that the REMARKS column be utilized to identify battalion needs and indicate the reason when the on duty BC was unable to supervise at least 1 drill a tour
Dependent on the time element and circumstances the administrative BC shall, when an apparatus is placed OOS, detail its company members to units within the battalion
- Chauffeurs shall remain in quarters to provide security
- If tiller involved tillerman stays in quarters also
- Company officer shall remain in quarters. Battalion may assign officer to battalion duties

Battalion Chief
In the event department property is lost during a fire or emergency operation the officer on duty with the unit incurring such loss shall, before leaving the scene, notify the IC. A battalion chief will conduct an investigation at the scene. If necessary a battalion chief will be special called to the scene for the purpose of this investigation. The battalion chief shall inform the deputy chief on the scene of the results of such investigation. If NO DEPUTY CHIEF IS ON THE SCENE, the BC shall
Phone the particulars to the DC ASSIGNED TO THE BOX. The BC will comprehensively endorse the Lost Property. Report (FS-112) and forward it to the DC who was notified of the loss.
If a loss of department property occurs under circumstances OTHER than a fire or emergency the officer on duty shall notify the units
Administrative Battalion
Any firefighter detailed for more than 3 tours or more
