What is quality control (QC)?
A procedure (or set of procedures) intended to ensure that a manufactured product or performed service adheres to a defined set of quality criteria OR meets the requirements of the client/customer
Is quality control the same as quality assurance?
No! They are similar, but not identical!
What is quality assurance (QA)?
Monitors + verifies that the processes used to manage + create the deliverables have been followed through + are operative
Is quality assurance or control a proactive process + preventative in nature?
Assurance - it recognizes flaws in the process
Does quality assurance or control have to be completed first?
Assurance - it MUST be completed BEFORE quality control
What are 2 components of accreditation?
QA + QC
What is the diagnostic accreditation program?
The provincial body that manages + oversees accreditation for diagnostic imaging in BC
What is the diagnostic accreditation program a branch off of?
Branch of the college of physicians + surgeons of BC
Why are only some of the testing + quality assurance guidelines mandatory?
B/c it would impact our pt care as it would take time away from scanning + more time checking all the probes
