Monuments
Naturally occurring physical features of the land only to determine the boundaries of a parcel of real property in order to legally describe it
Metes and Bounds
Describe property by specifying its shape and dimensions.
Surveyor
Uses both precision instruments a known natural and artificial bounds to measure the exact angles and distances in order to establish the boundaries of a piece of real property.
Government Survey
1785 Federal government adopted the Government
- called the Godetic or rectangular system
