Probability assigned by individual given level achieved task performance will lead to various work outcomes

Two factor theory
Identifies motivator factors primary causes of job satisfaction and hygiene as primary cause of job dissatisfaction

Tries build more motivator factors into job center

Refers to individuals choice when presented with number of possible alternatives
