CH 29 Distortion Flashcards
A general rule in radiography is to:
Maximize SID and reduce OID.
A decrease in SID does what to Mag, Distortion and Detail?
Increases magnification, increases distortion and decreases detail.
AN increase in OID does what to Mag, Distortion and detail?
Increases magnification, increases distortion and decreases detail.
Foreshortening is the
Insufficient CR angle or angle of the part.
Elongation is
Excessive CR angle
For every 5 degrees of CR angle we
reduce our SID on the track by 1 inch.
The least amount of distortion occurs at the
Central Ray.
The most distortion is found at the
Edges.
The tube must always be entered to what?
the part.
The Part must always be centered to the?
IR
The long axis of the part or object should be
perpendicular to the CR
The part should be parallel to
the IR
Incorrect centering is caused by:
1)Tube off centering 2)Incorrect part positioning 3)IR off centering
