Causes for artifacts are?
Processor caused, film handing, improper storage, objects not removed, scatter radiation, improper safelight distances, temp, poor humidity.
Fog
Hazy appearance
Fog is due to
Light leaks or improper safelight distance, Developer/Fixer contamination, Expired imbalanced chemicals, scatter radiation.
When is film most suseptable to fog?
After it has been exposed to x-rays.
Clear or white spots on film could be due to
Dirty intensifying screens, old or worm out intensifying screens.
Film is packed in foil to do what?
To protect it from static discharge.
Branching black marks on film are due to?
Static electricity
Quantum Moddle
Uneven denisty represented on image due to insufficient amount of x-ray exposure.
Quantum Moddle is more prevalent in what kind of system?
High speed systems
Crescent marks are caused by?
Pressure on film usually by finger nail marks or bending/folding film.
Yellow smudges are caused by?
Fixer being exhausted (depleted). Film turns brown with age.
Scratches on film are made by
Guide shoes, staples, or paper clips
Large thick lines from dirty rollers are called
