Sartorius

A

O: A.S.I.S

I: medial tibia below bondyle with gracilis and semitendinosus muscles at “pes anserinus”

A: Flexes leg and rotates medially; flexes thigh and rotates laterally; abducts limb when knee is locked

Q

Adductor Magnus

A

(sits under reflected adductor longus)

O: Ishiopubic ramus

I: Medial portion of femur from below lesser trochanter to adductor tubercle

A: entire muscle adducts thigh

Proximal portion: adducts and flexes, assists in rotation of thigh

Distal portion: adducts and extends, assists in rotation of thigh

N: proximal = posterior division of obturator

distal portion = tibial n.

NOTE: a gap exists in the distal attachment of the adductor magnus muscle (adductor hiatus) which provides continuity between the adductor canal aboe and the politeal fossa below
