Ch. 11: Prevention/Treatment Strategies Flashcards
Nina is a 15yo SF Mixed breed dog who presented with a history of chronic urinary incontinence and rear weakness. Recently, she had difficulty and pain walking. Her L carpus would only flex ~30 degrees. Rads indicated she has extensive bridging spondylosis of the T/L vertebrae, as well as DJD of the elbow and carpus. Upon palpation, her elbows and back were painful. Her tongue was purple with no coat. Pulse was weak and deep. She was diagnosed with KID Qi deficinecy. In addition, she had blood stagnation. The KID Qi def. lead to bone weakness, DJD, and spondylosis, and further resulted in blood stagnation. Thus, the KID Qi def. was the root and blood stagnation was the manifestation.
What is your TCVM treatment strategy for Nina?
Treating both the root and the manifestation
