Ch 10 Flashcards
Why do you provide feedback?
Research has shown that frequent feedback can improve motivation, learning, and performance. (Feedback is required at least once per two weeks for supervisees of BCBAs.)
To give supervisees the knowledge of what they are doing correctly and what needs improvement.
Why is it important to train persons who are involved in behavioral programs?
Because in most cases the treatment occurs in the client’s natural environment where “significant others” are a large part of the client’s life. Personnel often do not have a college degree and are not certified teachers.
How should feedback be provided?
In a way that increases the probability that the student/supervisee will benefit from the feedback. Feedback that is individualized, immediate, descriptive, paired with positive reinforcement, and presented graphically has a greater impact than when it is provided just matter-of-factly.
What are the requirements of supervisees?
The behavior analyst’s behavioral requirements of the supervisee must be in the behavioral repertoire of the supervisee. Supervisees must accurately describe their current skill sets.
A young adult engages in property destruction and aggression, what must you tell your supervisees?
Behavior analysts provide proper training, supervision, and safety precautions to their employees or supervisees and take reasonable steps to see that such persons perform services responsibly, competently, and ethically.
