What is the definition of a supervisory period?
The supervisory period for supervised independent fieldwork is two weeks.
How much supervision must be provided each supervisory period?
At least once per supervisory period and no less than 5% of the total hours for the supervisory period.
When can you begin you supervised experience?
When you have started attending courses to meet BACB coursework requirements.
How many experiences should you have during your supervised experience?
Multiple experiences are recommended. Multiple sites, supervisors, populations, and covering each of five content areas.
What are the limitations regarding the clients you work with during your supervision?
Behavior analytic services must be appropriate for the clients. You cannot be related to the client or the client’s primary caretaker or be the client’s primary caretaker.
What are the qualifications of a BCBA supervisor?
BCBA or BCBA-D in good standing; not related to, subordinate to, or employed by supervisee during supervisory period.
What are the limitations of the supervisor-supervisee relationship?
The supervisor cannot be related to, subordinate to, or employed by the supervisee during the supervisory period.
Can supervisors be paid?
Yes
Where must supervision occur?
In-person, on-site is best; supervisor not being present is allowed but discouraged. Should occur in natural environment.
What are the limits of small-group supervision?
No more than half of hours in supervisory. Can be accrued within small-group supervision.
Can supervision be provided remotely?
Yes, but it is encouraged to supervise in person.
Who is responsible for documenting supervision?
The supervisee and supervisor.
How long must you retain documentation of supervision?
At least seven years.
