Experts cannot rescue us
Experts often sound confident like they know what they are doing, but they are not always right.
Experts often disagree and claim opposite things of eachother
Experts do provide reasonable claims (if claim is within their expertise), so it gives us a food for thought, but we must evaluate these claims and make a decision ourselves.
Weak-sense critical thinking
Using critical thinking to only defend present beliefs
Selfish ends; not concerned with the truth and resists different opinions
Closed-mindedness and tears down others
Domination over those who disagrees with you
Strong sense critical thinking
Using critical thinking to evaluate and reconsider own beliefs
Evaluating other’s claims to defend against conformity and deception
Open-mindedness and willing to change with better evidence

Abstract ideas that we think are worthwhile but not always stated
Provides standard of conduct by which we act/measure quality of human behavior from friends, strangers, ourselves, etc.
May be so significant it affects opinions and beliefs
