What was Aristotle’s development belief?
Aristotle was empiricist, meaning he believed that all knowledge depends on direct experience or empirical observation
What was Plato’s view of development
Plato was a nativist meaning he viewed development is being driven primarily by internal forces
What did Rosseau say?
He opposed the idea that children’s minds were blank slates. he thought that children were endowed with an enhanced plan for development and a sense of right and wrong early in life

The founder of developmental psychology
Why is Charles Darwin important to developmental psychology?
Because he created baby biography (scientist tests their own child in an intensive study) and because of his evolutionism being used as a avenue to research child development
Why was Jean Piaget influential?
Jean Piaget was the most influential thinker and developmental psychology. He describes children’s development through stages. A certain set of cognitive skills at a certain stage. Children were limited to those skills characterized by that stage until they reach the next age.
Who created clinical method and what is it?
Clinical method was created by Jean Piaget it was a research method involving a preplanned interview.
Who was Vygovsky and what process of problem-solving did he discover?
The dialectical process. And adult and the child repeatedly worked your problem or task together.
What is evolutionary psychology?
A belief that in our understanding of evolution we can find an understanding of psychological development
