• if hrHPV then colposcopy
• if hrHPV but cytology normal then repeat in 12 months

if colposcopy normal then repeat smear in 12 months

• if still hrHPV positive after 12 months then repeat smear 12 months later. if still hrHPV after 24 months then colposcopy
• if hrHPV negative then return to normal recall

if sample inadequate then repeat in 3 months
- 2 inadequate samples - colposcopy
