What is the Engine International Air Pollution Prevention Certificate (EIAPPC)?
- Issued to all engines onboard ship that are above 130KW and certifies it meets the require NOx emission limits.
- Required by all ships over 400 GT or certified to carry more than 15persons

What is the International Sewage Pollution Prevention Certificate?
-Issued to show that sewage treating equipment on board are in compliance with MARPOL
- Issued by Class
- Initial Survey, Renewal survey before 5 years
What is the International Ships Sanitation Certificate or Expemtion?
- This global system aims to minimise the risk ships may pose to public or international health.
- These certificates must be renewed at least every six months, so ship sanitation control inspections need to be undertaken at six-monthly intervals.
- Ship Sanitaion Certificate is issued when there is evidence of public health risk
- Ships Sanitatoin Exemption Certificate is issued when there are no issues detcted
What is the International Safety Management Certificate?
- Issued to show vessel, company and ship management operate in accordance with the SMS.
- Issued by Flag
- Valid for 5 years subject to initial and annual audits
What is the Document of Compliance?
- Issued to the owning company and is not vessel specific. It covers the entire fleet of the company
- Will keep an copy of the Document of Compliance onboard.
- Proves Owning company is compliant with ISM
- Issued by Flag State
- Valid for 5 Years
- Internal Audits to be carried out no greater than every 12 months.
What does ISSC stand for?

What is the International Ship Security Certificate (ISSC)?
- Certifies that ships security systems and equipment have been verified and are in accordance with ISPS.
- Issued by Flag state
- Issued to all vessels over 500 GT
- Requires Ships Security Plan
- Initial audit, intermediate audit and renewal at 5 years.
What is the Ships Station Radio License?
- Issued by Ofcom in the UK
- All vessels are required to hold it
- Valid for the life of the vessel or until it is sold
- License ensures ships are authorized to use radio frequencies for communication, navigation and safety
What is the International Anti-Fouling System Certificate?
- Certifies that the anti-fouling used onboard is compliant
- Vessels must keep record of antifouling system used onboard.
- All vessels over 400 GT
-Initial survey then when coating is changed or more than 25 % is applied. - Vessels above 24 M but below 400 GT must keep declaration of anti-fouling and this must be accompanied by paint receipt and/or contractor invoice.

- Initial audit and renewal at 5 years
What is the Bunker Convention Certificate?
- Issued by Flag
- For vessels over 1000GT
- Must also have bunker convention blue card issued by insurance company.
- It proves that is financial security to cover the liability of the owner incase of pollution damage.
