What documents must you have to fly the airplane?
1) Pilot certificate
2) Valid medical certificate

What privileges and limitations apply to private pilot?
1) Are allowed to be the PIC of any aircraft you are rated for, as well as being able to carry passengers.
2) CANNOT fly for compensation for hire, unless flying for a charity.
3) CANNOT pay less than the pro rata share of the flight. (This only includes expenses for fuel, oil, airport fees.)
Are you required to log all of your flight time?
No, only hours that go towards training ot currency.
When can you log PIC time?
1) When you are the sole manipulator of the controls of the aircraft that I am rated for.
2) When you are the sole occupant of the aircraft
3) You are acting as PIC for an aircraft requiring more than one flight crew member.
Are you required to present your documents upon request?
Yes, you are legally obligated to present required documents upon request to;
1) FAA administrator
2) A NTSB representative
3) Federal, state, or local law enforcement
4) TSA representative
Does your Private Pilot certificate expire?
No, the ppl does not expire. HOWEVER, you are only permitted to exercise certificate privileges if you are current.
How do you keep your pilot certificate current?
1) must posses a current and valid medical
2) Have completed a Flight Review within 24 calendar months.
To carry passengers what must have you completed?
1) Complete 3 landings in the preceding 90 days in the same category, class, and type of the aircraft you intend to carry passengers into.
2) To carry passengers at night must be 3 landings to a FULL STOP in the preceding 90 days.
3 definitions of night
1) Sunset to sunrise: Position lights must be ON
2) Evening civil Twilight to Morning civil Twilight: for logging night time
3) 1 hour after Sunset to 1 hour before
sunrise: Logging night landings for currency, and carrying passengers at night.

What does Category mean?
Airplane, Rotorcraft, Glider, Lighter than air, Powered Parachute, Weight shift control, Powered Lift
What does class mean?
Single engine Land/ Sea, Multi engine Land/ Sea
What does Type mean?
A type of aircraft refers to a specific make and model of an aircraft, such as the Boeing 737 or Airbus A320. To fly an aircraft that weighs more than 12,500 pounds or a jet (regardless of weight), pilots require a “type rating.”
How long does a pilot have to notify the FAA of a permanent mailing address change?
