ischemic stroke -carotid artery obstruction
occlusion affecting basilar arteries
vertebrobasilar occlusion
worst HA of life, rapid progression, altered consciousness, during exercise, trauma
subarachnoid hemorrhage
initial LOC, ass c/ HTN, lumbar puncture is contraindicated
intercerebral hemorrhage
most asymptomatic - located ant to circle of willis
intercranial aneurism
most are supratentorial
AV malformations
monocular vision loss lasting min c/ full recovery, vertical curtain
amaurosis fugax
flow reversal due to stenosis or occlusion
subclavian steal syndrome
