cerebellum Flashcards

1
Q

cerebellum info path

A

upper motor neuron in primary motor cortex synapses on lower motor neuron to implement motor command –> copy of motor command sent to cerebellum –> proprioceptive info sent to cerebellum –> compares command to motion and sends feedback to motor cortex

Q

flocculonodular lobe

A

balance and eye movements
input from vestibular nuclei
output to fastigial nuclei and vestibular nuclei and then to lower motor neurons

Q

Marr-Abus-Ito motor learning theory

A

granule cells give continuous info about what the body is doing
when body makes a movement error → climbing fiber fires → kicking off parallel fiber synapses (input will be less significant)

Q

cerebellum feedback loop

A

mossy fiber = plan
climbing fiber = error
receives plan and actual movement
outputs feedback to cortex
