What are the side effects of cephalosporins?

A
  • Hypersensitivity - do not give if pt has a history of penicillin hypersensitivity. If theres no alternative give a 3rd gen or cefuroxime
  • Antibiotic-associated colitis - More common in second and 3rd generation
