- UTI (second line in pregnancy)

- Cefuroxime - poorly absorbed. needs to be given w food
- Cefaclor

- Cefixime
- Ceftriaxone
- Cefotaxime
- Ceftazamide

What are the side effects of cephalosporins?
A
- Hypersensitivity - do not give if pt has a history of penicillin hypersensitivity. If theres no alternative give a 3rd gen or cefuroxime
- Antibiotic-associated colitis - More common in second and 3rd generation
