What is the pathogenesis of CSCR?

A

There is an increased permeability of capillaries causing a leakage of fluid due to the dysfunction of the pumping mechanism.

Round/Oval dome shaped retinal elevation at macular.

What is the management/referral for someone with CSCR?

A
  • Urgent referral within 2 weeks

- Monitor and address causative factors such as stress and steroid use.

What is the treatment for CSCR?

A
  • For most cases it revolves within 6 months so just monitor.
  • For persistant cases such as chronic CSCR (>4months): Argon laser photocoagulation to RPE leak, photodynamic therapy, Anti-VEGF.
