Yes because they wore colourful clothes and dyed their hair blonde.
They were also fined if the bellies were showing
What type of clothes did the celts wear?
The men wore woollen trousers called bracae and boots made from soft leather. The women wore long woollen dresses, fastened around the waist with a leather belt or buckle
How do we know that the Celts were skilled Craftspeople?
Because they found a way to dye their hair and clothes

Ancient laws that had been passed down generation by generation

Training for 20 years to learn the history and legends of the celts by composing poetry and learning it off by heart
What did the celts do which tells us that they were vicious warriors?
The chopped off the heads of their enemies and hung them from the necks of their horses and when they got home they nailed the head to their front door
How important were women in the Celtic times?
Very important because they cooked, made the clothes and brought up the children.
What is a rath or a ring fort?
A Celtic dwelling place
Why are some ring forts called cashels?
Because they are made from stone
What is as souterrain and what was it used for ?
An underground passage and it was used for keeping meat and other foods cold.
How were crannógs built?
By dumping stones and mud in lakes and building them on top of that
How did the crannóg offer protection?
Because it was built on water so no animals could get near them and you would need a boat if you were human
What are promontory forts ?
They are hill forts that were built on the edges of cliffs

What was the importance of the feast of Samhain?
That it marked the beginning of a new year.
What was the importance of the feast of Imbolc?
It was St.brigids day celebrated on the 1st of February.
What was the importance of the Bealtaine feast?
In hope that the harvest would be good this was the second most important feast.
