A gram positive bacteria
3
Q

This is effective against both staph aures and strep pyogenes.
4
Q
What class of antimicrobial is flucloxacillin?
A
Beta lactam
5
Q
What mechanism of action is flucloxacillin?

Cell wall synthesis inhibition
6
Q
Examples of virulence factors of staphylococcus aures
A
- Secreted coagulate which is an enzyme that causes citrates plasma to clot. This restricts access by neutrophils.
- Some bacteria that have a capsule.
- Cell wall contains protein A which binds to Fc region of IgG - exerting an anti opsonins
