a collection of tissues that caryy out a specialized function of the body
Organ system
a group of organs that work together to perform body functions
Organism
a living thing
Homestasis
Steady internal conditions when external conditions change
Excretory system
removes solid, liqiud, and gas waste minerals from the body
Respiratory system
exchanges gases between the body and the enviroment
Circulartory System
it transports gases, nutrients, waste, and other substances throughout the body
Lymphatic system
removes excess fluid from around organs, produces white blood cells, and absorbs and transports fats
immunity
the resistance to specific pathogens or disease-causing agants
skelatal system
protects internal organs, provides support, helps the body move, and stores minerals
muscualr system
helps the body move
