Cells & Organs :) Flashcards
What are 6 features that make up a Plant Cell?
- Mitochondria
- Cell Wall
- Cell Membrane
- Vacuole
- Chloroplasts
- Nucleus
What is the function of the Cell Membrane?
Boundary for the cell, controls which substances move in or out.
What is the Function of the Cell Wall?
Provides strength and protection for the cell.
What is the function of the Nucleus?
Contains DNA, which controls the cell’s activities.
What is Cytosol?
A jelly-like substance that the organelles float in.
What is Mitochondria?
Creates energy packets for the cell from sugar.
What is the Vacuole?
Stores fluids, wastes, and nutrients.
What is Chloroplast?
Collects sunlight to convert water and carbon dioxide into sugar (the “plant’s food”)
