Cells In It Enviorment Flashcards
What are the three processes of active transport
Endocytosis
Exocytosis
Transport proteins
How do materials transport in and out of the cell
Passive transport
Active transport
Explain the difference between Endocytosis and Exocytosis
Endocytosis is when a cell membrane surrounds a particle and encloses it in a vesicle bringing it into a cell
Exocytosis is when a vesicle forms around a particle such as waste and brings it to the cell membrane and releases it from the cell
What three key elements are in passive transport
Diffusion
Osmosis
Channels in Membrane
Metaphase
Paired chromatins line up along the center of the cell and attach by their centromeres to spindle fibers Nuclear membrane is dissolved
Anaphase
The centromere split and sister chromatids move to opposite end of the cell (stretches out)
Telophase
Nuclear membranes reform around chromosomes Cell begins to pinch in the middle
Cytokinesis
Organelles and chromosomes split into daughter cells and cell plate forms in the middle splitting the cell into two
Cell Cycle
The life cycle of a cell
Chromosomes
Organized DNA
Homologous Chromosomes
Hold the same sequence and gene structure
Mitosis
Chromatids Separate
Binary Fission
Cell division in Bacteria
